OUR LOVE STORY

Alex and Abby first met October 1st, 2017 at Florida State University. Abby grew up in Boca Raton, FL and Alex grew up in Broomfield, CO. The two of them had a mutual love for animals, music, school, and quality time together. They would study together in the library, watch Florida State Football Games, dance the night away at countless concerts, and their friend groups intertwined. Abby took Alex to his first music festival Voodoo in New Orleans and the two of them have been to 8 others together since. Music is a huge part of both of their lives. Abby had always wanted to visit Colorado, so it was only fitting that she met one of the few guys at FSU from Colorado. Alex took Abby on her first trip to the mountains where she got to go skiing for the first time and Decadence NYE music festival in Denver.&nbsp;&nbsp; 	Alex got Abby her first kitten named Smokey in 2018 and they have been bonded ever since. They both graduated from FSU this year as well. Abby graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and Alex graduated with his Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science. They stayed in Tallahassee, Florida for one more year until Alex received his Master’s degree in Computer Science. Alex landed a job In in DMV area where the two of them moved at the end of 2019. COVID-19 hit shortly after where they lived in a new state and struggled to get their footing living in a shut-down world. Like many others, they welcomed their COVID kitty Bandit into their family and he has loved being by their sides ever since. 	Abby got into a Dental Hygiene program in Massachusetts where they moved February of 2022. While there, they took full advantage of the New England area. They took many trips to Boston to see the Celtics play, taking vacations to Cape Cod and Portland, Maine. Eating all of the Cannoli’s, Lobsta Rolls, and Clam Chowda they possibly could. Although they loved New England, the winters were gloomy and they needed a change. Abby completed Hygiene School applied for, and received her Colorado Dental Hygiene License 	Once they moved to Colorado, Abby began working as a full time Dental Hygienist while Alex continued working from home as a Software Engineer. Abby had always dreamed of living near the mountains and Alex forgot how much he enjoyed them as well. They found a beautiful townhome to live and their days consist of long drives up into the mountains for breakfast, snow tubing in the winter, and searching for all different wildlife year-round.&nbsp; 	Alex and Abby have overcome many obstacles throughout their 8 years together and have only come out stronger as a couple. Their love stands on respect, love, honesty, trust, and the value they see in one another. They ensure that as they evolve as individuals their relationships evolves as well. They are truly best friends who only want to be there to love and support one another 	They are inviting family and friends to come celebrate them and their future marriage together as husband and wife. They cannot wait to celebrate with those who love them!

We are excited to show you the beautiful state of Colorado - a place that has quickly become a home away from home. We're thrilled to celebrate our special day in the heart of Colorado’s stunning Estes Park. Nestled in the Rocky Mountains, this charming town offers breathtaking views, fresh mountain air, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Expect picturesque landscapes, winter wonderland, and a touch of small-town magic as we say "I do." We have included information below on our recommendations for travel, lodging, weather and more!

TRANSPORTATION

Travel NoteEstes Park is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes from Denver International Airport. We recommend renting a car to get from Denver International to Estes Park.There is NO Uber or Lyft service available in Estes Park. There is, however, an Estes Park local version of Uber/Lyft called Explore Estes - additional details below. With that said, we do recommend a rental car as the most flexible choice for getting to and around the town, but the immediate town of Estes Park is fairly small and walkable! Please note: There is NO rental car provider in Estes Park, so cars will need to be rented at Denver International Airport or in the Denver area. ADDITIONAL OPTIONS OUTLINED BELOW

ESTES PARK AIRPORT SHUTTLEScheduled shuttle service from Denver International Airport to your accommodations in Estes Park. Cost is $75 one way or $135 roundtrip per customer. Reservations can be made online or by calling the phone number above. This is a great option for those who do not feel comfortable driving up the mountains

Explore Estes is proud to be the only private transportation business that is fully licensed, regulated, and insured in the state of Colorado to provide private Uber-like transportation services within Estes Park and to the Rocky Mountain National Park. They’ll pick you up right from your location and drop you off exactly at your destination! Their services book up quickly, so please allow at least an hour notice, if possible. Though helpful, we do not recommend relying solely on this as your means of transportation as their fleet is limited to only 3 cars. Group Size: 1 – 6 people &nbsp;Shoulder Season (Nov – May) Hours:Mon &amp; Thurs: 9am – 8pm | Fri &amp; Sat: 9am – 12am | Sun: 10am – 6pm | Tuesday &amp; Wednesday: CLOSED

LODGING

Travel NoteEstes Park is not a ski town and is rather quiet in the winter time! While there is plenty of lodging available, we strongly recommend booking early if you are able to attend. We recommend booking lodging directly at the Black Canyon Inn if you plan to take a shuttle up to Estes as all of their lodging is right next to the venue. If you plan to book lodging not at the Black Canyon Inn, just know you will need to drive to the venue day of! I will include lodging that is all within 5 -10 minutes of the venue.

The Black Canyon Inn has lodging on-site and will be the most convenient option for attending the wedding. They offer suite, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom condos as well as rustic log cabins. The Stanley Hotel is historic and famous for being the inspiration behind Stephen King's iconic book, "The Shining" and makes an appearance in the iconic Dumb &amp; Dumber movie. The hotel is about a 4 minute drive / 20 minute walk to downtown Estes Park and approximately a 5-minute drive to and from the wedding venue. They also have The Stanley Residences available if you'd like to stay on the Stanley Hotel property, but in a house with a smaller group!

Travel NoteEstes Park, Colorado sits at an elevation of 7,522 feet. Please be aware of the effects of high altitude and start hydrating at least 2 days before you arrive in Colorado! Drink more water than you think you'll need, and consider adding electrolytes. Don't overdo it with exercise and note that alcohol tends to have greater effects at higher elevation.

SHOPPING IN DOWNTOWN ESTES PARK

Estes Park is a tourist town, so there is no shortage of t-shirts, ice cream, and souvenirs. BUT, take a stroll along the river downtown and you will find so much more ... clothing stores offering everything from hiking gear to upscale women's wear, home decor, galleries featuring amazing (and often local) artwork/photography. Estes is known for salt water taffy, and we suggest a stop at The Taffy Shop (choose the OG, since 1935!) where you can watch the taffy being pulled on the original machine and get a free sample to help you choose your favorite flavor. Rocket Fizz candy store has every and all candy you can think of along with a wall of unique soda flavors.

Yes, it's haunted, and it was the inspiration for Stephen King's iconic book, "The Shining." Tours are available if you are interested! Aside from the tours, we recommend simply going to explore the hotel as it's absolutely beautiful and has restaurants, bars and even a hedge maze!

Challenge your family and friends to a round of mini golf or bumper cars next to the river and surrounded by beautiful mountains! Lots of other activities including go-karts and bumper boats, plus local beer and wine. Some activities will not be available in the winter, but the Trackman golf simulator and mini golf are open all winter weather dependent!

The welcome dinner has been moved from 5pm to 6pm! Buffet style food will be provided. Feel free to come in comfortable clothes. No need to dress up! We are so looking forward to seeing everyone

The wedding dress code will be Formal to Black Tie optional! Though the wedding will be indoors, long dresses may be wanted when going from lodging to the venue!"Black Tie Optional" means guests have a choice between traditional black-tie attire (tuxedo/evening gown) or a slightly less formal, but still very elegant, alternative like a formal dark suit for men or a cocktail dress/dressy pantsuit for women :)
